2014 Awards Kris Taylor write-up

Page history last edited by PEI RoadRunners Club 8 years, 10 months ago

Kris Taylor is a fitting winner for the Sporting Intentions Male Roadrunner of the year award. Kris is a “humble” dad from the center of the Island!

Kris is an incredible talent. It seems he has the ability to master anything he places his attention on. He’s an artist, business owner, musician, pharmacist, carpenter, coach, father and an athlete in many sports (golf, triathlon and running). I’m scared that I might only be scratching the surface of what he’s good at.

Here’s an overview of Kris’ season:

His 5k time was - 16:27  at the Proude’s Shoes 5K to start his winning season. Kris participated in the Ottawa marathon in May, 2014 placing 29th overall in a personal best time of 2:39:27. Later in July, he won the Dunk River 11.6km run in 41:30.

He was the PEI Marathon winner for the second time in 2:43:29; and of course he qualified for the 2015 Boston Marathon!

Kris is also a great ambassador to the PEI running community. He coaches junior athletes regularly in cycling and running, and he promotes the sport within his community and beyond. We are excited to see what will happen in 2015 with Kris’ determination and dedication to his sport. Congratulations Kris on being selected as our Male Roadrunner of the Year.
