PEI Roadrunners Club Board Meeting
May 17, 2017
Janet called the meeting to order.
Attendance: Paul McGuire, Cheri Gallant, Janet Bain, Pat Ellis, Barb DesRoches, Maureen Peters
Janet moved the approval of the agenda, seconded by Paul.
The minutes from the previous meeting were read. Paul moved to accept as written and for approval,
seconded by Cheri.
Janet presented the President’s report. There is a race in progress sign missing after the WR3 and Spring
Run Off events. Janet met with Jen Hanus from Running Room to see what that organization offered
race directors and shared her findings. It seems that PEI Road Runners and Running Room can work
cooperatively to support runners and race directors. Race insurance was discussed; it was decided that
the PEI RR race day waiver be signed at events where Running Room looks after the registration.
Logistics of this were discussed. A motion to accept the president’s report was made by Paul and
seconded by Maureen.
Pat presented the Treasurer’s report and moved that it be accepted. This motion was seconded by
Janet. Pat suggested that the club cover out of pocket expenses incurred by executive while conducting
club business. Pat and Barb will look at what Sport PEI has for an expense reimbursement format and
bring something back to the board for discussion. Travel would be the obvious expense however phone
bills for long distance would also be considered.
Agenda:
The Sport PEI AGM is coming up and Janet asked for a volunteer to attend and Paul agreed to attend.

the Bunny Hop 10K being short of 10K. Courses measured by GPS are at risk of being short/long due to
the nature of satellite location and not everyone runs the tangents so discrepancies may result. There
are no requirements for a sanctioned race to be wheel measured so race directors will be encouraged to
have their courses as accurate as possible.
Two bursaries are available to graduating students. These will be promoted via social media and on the
website where the criteria
