Paul Burnley is an active Roadrunner and a fitness expert. He is a consummate gentleman who is always willing to offer fitness and nutritional advice when asked, while never looking for credit. Fellow gym members are often seen chatting with Paul as he helps them on their wellness journey. At races, his big smile and positive energy make him really nice to have around.

As seen on the Roadrunner Message Board, Paul is often congratulating and thanking others for their accomplishments and contributions to the Roadrunner community.

It’s not surprising his times improved last season, Paul was on fire in 2016!!

As one fellow runner put it

“I was so impressed with his performance at the Fulton Campbell half where he charged forward in the humidity that stalled most of us. Paul charged past me at the 13k water stop on a very hot humid day. Union Road gives you an opportunity to see those who are ahead of you for a very long time, so I saw him continue his charge and go right past the 16k water stop, taking nothing. Later, on the highway, he did the same at the 19k water stop. I stopped at every water stop, watching him extend his lead. He ran that half marathon on a very humid day, with a full charge towards a goal. Paul was an inspiration that day and continues to be with his dedication to running and his other fitness pursuits.”

Paul kept the charge on at the Dunk River race, the Harvest Festival 25k, and the PCH Friendship Run 10k. He won the Tyne Valley 10k with a sub 45 minute run, and topped his year with a Boston-qualifying finish at the PEI Marathon (crushing his required qualifying time).

Paul is a long-time Roadrunner. His performance in 2016 shows both a love for running and a dedication to improve and maintain focus on a goal. The finishing picture of Paul at the PEI Marathon illustrates dedication and the resulting joy of accomplishment.

Every PEI Roadrunner will be cheering for Paul at the Boston Marathon in 2018

Congratulations Paul on an all round outstanding 2016! You are our very deserving Sporting Intentions Male Roadrunners of the Year!
