Congratulations Cheri Gallant, Gemini Screen Printing and Embroidery Volunteer-of-the-Year!
Cheri is becoming to Janet what Janet was to Jamie. And then some!
A few years back, Cheri joined a GoPEI Learn to Run program and learned to run. She joined the PEI Roadruuners and participated in a number of events and then went on to give back by teaching some Learn to Run classes.
When injury sidelined her, she stayed in the game by volunteering at races, contacting race directors to offer her help as well as becoming Janet's #1 assistant, helping out with race registration, taking photos, handing out membership packages, whatever needed doing race day.
She became Janet's sounding board, proofreader and alternative perspective and soon she was also attending all the Roadrunner board meetings offering her opinions & ideas, taking the initiative to investigate opportunities, secure price quotes, soliciting ads for the Race Guide booklet, helping with ordering, picking up and even designing Club supplies.
If Cheri is at a race, Facebook will have her photo showing the runners off and running from the start line. Sometimes she can stay for the race and there will be many more photos, sometimes she helps out with registration before leaving for other commitments and other times, after registration, she registers herself too and she and Roxy get a nice walk in.
At the races & behind the scenes Cheri has given invaluable assistance to the Club.
Congratulations Cheri a most deserving winner of the Gemini Screen Printing and Embroidery Volunteer-of-the-Year award. Thanks for all your contributions to our RoadRunners Club!
