Congratulations John Bowser, our 2016 Proude’s Shoes Most Improved Roadrunner!
John starting running a few years ago on vacation in Hawaii after just quitting smoking. He was soon hooked. He is one of the most passionate runners around, or as one fellow runner put it
”I have seen such an inexhaustible drive and dedication to continuous training and improvement regardless of the season or outdoor temperature!”
John runs a lot, and runs all over. He seems to always be headed to his next race. This has led to much improvement. He qualified and ran the Boston Marathon in 2016, and again last week. Additionally he qualified for the New York City Marathon at a Quebec Marathon event with a PB time of 3 hrs and 12 minutes. This was just one of his 20167 PBs.
He’s taken more than 10 minutes and 10 positions off his Harvest Festival 25K since 2013. He ran a sub-20 minute Deltaware, almost 13 minutes faster than his 2014 result there.
At the PEI Marathon John is generally seen running in the corporate relay but he follows with the Moncton Marathon the next weekend. His 2016 Legs For Literacy time was almost 4 minutes faster than his 2014 time.
John’s fellow runners & stats concur – John is a most deserving winner of the 2016 Proude’s Shoes Most Improved Roadrunner Award. Congratulations John!
