Minutes of July 6th, 2016 Board Meeting

Janet called the meeting to order.

Pat approved the agenda, Heather seconded.

An amendment made to the minutes of the June 1st meeting:

Should read...A meeting will be set up with the Dept. of Highways regarding races. As of now, night races must end by 7:00 pm.

Also, John Bowser said no to being a Prince County Rep.

Janet motions to accept the minutes with changes. Maureen seconded.

A few notes from the President's Report:

Janet got a card from the Walk for Alzheimer's.

A lot of happy runners at the Points East Lighthouse Run Relay

Numbers were down at the Cornwall Classic.

Wondering why no member bibs were allowed at the Twin Shores Canada Day Run.

E-Transfers are now possible.... For membership mostly. Maybe members could send the security answer on their application form. More for next year. Now it is for invoicing.

T'was the Night Before Christmas Run...could be held at the end of November. Maybe at the UPEI track and on the trail...a 5k.

Parker Lund...Janet should be hearing from him soon. A mini reunion-history of the club

ACTION: Heather will look into this....Outlet for hats in Charlottetown...Hashems, In Good Taste.  She will contact Rhonda Belfontaine and Lynn Hogan about being Prince County Reps.

Janet will begin talking to Race Directors now about a booklet for the 2017/18 race year.  Take part in selling tickets as a possible fundraiser with PEI Marathon. Janet will be contacting RD's of the following races...Stratford Rotary Run for Mikinduri, Vernon River School Fall Fun Run, Wally  Rodd Memorial Run.

There are 21 points races.

New Races...Red Sea Run at Camp Seggie (10 and 5ks) with a sandbar dash of 300m for kids. Also Road to Cavendish Run (5, 10.5 and 19ks) starting in Rustico.

Next meeting is Aug 10th at 6:30 pm.
